Our mission is to support local Moses Lake, WA non-profits and help them fulfill their missions. We do this in a number of ways, typically by request we can help them promote their needs & missions as well as solicit the community for much needed items for their clients. If you are a non-profit in need of something in particular, send us a request and we’ll see how we might help you. Got something to donate but not sure of the next steps? Send us a message, we may be able to help. We want to promote giving back to our community, however you can, will make our community a better place to live.
This program started as the result of a public request for lunches for those in need from Serve Moses Lake. Since January 3, 2017 we’ve been meeting weekly to make lunches, soliciting donations and gathering with volunteers to make it all happen. It is with community support we’re able to provide up to 200 sack lunches every week to those that need a simple meal of a peanut butter & jelly sandwich, chips, granola bar and applesauce. Care Sack lunches are distributed by Serve Moses Lake, Hope Source (Open Doors Sleeping Center), Community Services (our local food bank) and the Big Bend Community College Viking Food Pantry.
During the winter months of 2021 we started making a roasting pan of hot soup for the Open Doors Sleeping Center run by Hope Source. We’re able to provide them with a hot meal on a consistent weekly basis. All soup is made from scratch and delivered along with supplies of bowls, spoons & crackers. This program has continued and in 2024 we are now making soup on Sundays and Wednesdays.
Because of generous donors we had the opportunity to provide much needed supplies to the following organizations: Open Doors Sleeping Center, Youth Dynamics, Community & Family Services (foster kids), Soroptimist International Moses Lake and Columbia Basin Allied Arts. Care Packs are customized per event and organization.
You can now help support New Hope/Kids Hope by donating to the Care Snacks program. We’re supplying snacks to help feed families and kids who are using New Hope/Kids Hope services due to domestic violence circumstances. We’ve also been able to supply food & supplies to Youth Dynamics and the Boys & Girls Club ($500 worth of food is donated annually to feed kids over Spring Break).
We support other non-profits with donations or by providing a service to help the non-profit with their efforts. This includes weekly pickups and deliveries of donations from the food bank to the Big Bend Community College Food Pantry. We also donate protein shakes to the Columbia Basin Cancer Foundation on a monthly basis and donate needed supplies to New Hope/Kids Hope.
In 2022 we held a Care Fair where we invited local non-profits to set up a fair where the community could come learn more about them. What resulted from that event was the 24 non-profits networking with each other. By working together we’ll be able to support each other and make our community everything it can be. We now meet monthly to share, learn and grow. Care Moses Lake gives out a financial prize at these monthly events, even a little money can go a long way for a non-profit. We also support local and statewide organizations.
